Farther Memory is Chiharu Shiota‘s contribution to the Setouchi International Art Festival 2010. It was available for viewing until last month in the village of Kō on Teshima. It recently closed along with other Art Setouchi’s artworks. I’m really not sure whether it will reopen this coming Spring

Farther Memory
Farther Memory by Chiharu Shiota is the only remaining Art Setouchi artwork in the village of Kō on Teshima. This installation is located in the former village’s community building. About 600 window frames were gather from abandoned houses all over the island to make the artwork. The resulting tunnel that goes across the building
